SCIENTIFIC NAME: Drymis winterii
Sacred tree for the Mapuches, natives from Temuco IXth region.
DISTRIBUTION
It is distributed between paralels 30° and 56° South Latitude, reaching its best development in the area of Chiloe where forms huge, very abundand anf of rapid growth forests.
In the North area of its distribution it restricted to the areas that remain humid all year long.
These trees grow in different lands, specially in those of great humidity not even considering droughts.
